Opening prayer by Kathy Orrock Pruett
Our Father in Heaven,
We humbly bow our heads at this time with hearts full and drawn towards
heaven. We thank thee so much for the opportunity to gather together in
love and in joy at this time. We are so grateful, Father, for thy Son, for His
victory over death. We are so grateful for the joy that this brings into our
hearts and the comfort that it blesses us with.
We are so grateful for a life that we are able to celebrate at this time, for
his example, his strength, his tender heart. We are so grateful for the
opportunity, as the veil is so thin at this time, to feel the whisperings of the
spirit, to be taught, to be edified, to be able to have joy over the sharing of
love and testimony.
We pray for each of those who will be speaking and participating in this
program at this time that all things may be done in a manner pleasing unto
thee and unto our wonderful father, grandfather, and great grandfather,
and brother. We ask for thy spirit to be poured out upon each of us, those
that are here and those that are on the other side of the veil that may be
celebrating at this time, that we might truly be comforted and
strengthened, that the words that are spoken might teach and edify, that
our testimonies might be strengthened and that we might each prepare to
be able to return home to thee as eternal families.
We thank thee for all of thy blessings and we pray for these blessings very
humbly in the name of thy Son, Jesus Christ, amen.
