Closing Prayer offered at Scott Orrock's funeral                   by Carol Stephan August 17, 2006 Our Father in Heaven, we express heartfelt thanks for the opportunity to celebrate, honor, and pay our respects to a great man. We are grateful for the knowledge of the great plan of salvation, a plan that has provided Dad with a joyful and happy reunion with family and loved ones. We are grateful for the knowledge that he is with Thee and that he has been released from the burdens and pain afflicted upon his mortal body. We express deep gratitude for the man who raised us. for the grandfather who influenced our lives for good, and the man who touched and blessed so many here and those not ever, present today. We know that his influence for good reached many and will continue to influence many for generations to come. Wilt Thou allow him to finally and keenly be aware in his heart and in his mind, the great impact he made and the blessing he was and will continue to be to so many lives. We petition Thee to allow him to reach beyond the veil and continue to bless his children's and his posterity's lives as they move forward in their own spiritual progression. We are grateful for the atonement of Jesus Christ that provided a way for him to grow, to change, to become the man he is now, and we are grateful for the atonement in each one of our lives. Wilt Thou bless us all on the path back to Thee and bless him as he continues on his path to receiving even more spiritual light. We pray that Thou wilt provide his sweetheart of so many years the comfort and peace that sometimes only the Spirit can bring. Please bless her with the joy and hope in the knowledge that they will once again be reunited for eternity. Next to Thee, his greatest love is his dear wife and his crowning jewels are his posterity. Father, wilt Thou now embrace him in the tender arms of Thy love. We express our love and gratitude, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
